we have paused in our look at Philippians to have a short 4 week series on what is known as the four 'solas'.
"The four what?" I hear you cry! I am sure it may sound a bit weird, but here is a chance to catch a bit of our family history and to understand why we are the way we are!
Some of you may have been watching the show “Who do you think you are…”. Shows like these reveal to us how as individuals we each have a family tree that go back a long way and can profoundly shape who we are.
Churches are the same. St Andrew’s has a long history, a long family tree, that goes a long way back; and just like our biological families, whether we are aware of it or not, who we are as a church is shaped by all of that.
Through The four solas - Scripture Alone, Faith Alone, Grace alone, and Christ alone we are going to take a look at a bit of our family history so that we might understand a bit more of why we are who we are, why we do what we do.
